SNOOZE Is a Novel “to Share across Generations”

In yet another superb review, Dr. Janet Graham of Kalamazoo, Michigan, focuses on SNOOZE’s mind-expanding scientific (as in: new science) content.

Here’s Dr. Graham’s insightful review:

In 1900 the popular scientific conceit was that “There is nothing new to be discovered in physics now. All that remains is more and more precise measurement.” This remark, often attributed to the honorable Lord Kelvin, past President of the Royal Society, the very heart of scientific progress, firmly defined the settled science of the day as limited to the materialistic worldview of Newtonian physics. If it’s not matter, it doesn’t matter.

Within 5 years, Albert Einstein published foundational research on quantum mechanics. Just like that, ENERGY burst onto the world of physics.

Wouldn’t you think that by now, with over 100 years of research, exploration, and discoveries, we—not just the frontier scientists among us but as a culture—would have moved beyond wizards and wands and into an understanding of connections of space/time and time/space?

Once again, it falls to the artist to move us toward enlightenment. Author, artist and researcher Sol Luckman chose that challenge in writing SNOOZE, a search-and-rescue adventure tale that is not only based on possibilities of pure science but is packed with practical applications of alternative health choices and wisdom.

Such a book could easily be dull and pedantic, better suited to a presentation of information in outline form with bullet points. But Luckman’s engaging characters, especially the three students Max, Tuesday and Raul (and their counterparts), are vividly alive while dealing with heartbreak, family, danger, courage, loyalty, love and awakening. Each one is growing, learning and sharing in a story-driven heroic quest. And, yes, there are villains. There are mammoths and yetis and ancient civilizations. And ideas! Oh so many ideas.

This is a good read. One to share across generations, across space and time—or time and space.
